The Annual Harvest Festival
The Harvest Festival is an event thrown by iPrep’s PTSA every year to raise money to fund different charities and kits. The first harvest fest started approximately nine years ago as an afterschool event on Fridays. However, beginning in 2019, the celebration was changed to a Saturday as an all-day event.
The purpose of the event is always raising money for a cause; this year, the Harvest Fest funded the “‘STOP THE BLEED” kits, which are hospital-style kits that will be in all classrooms for an emergency.

The Harvest Fest was on October 22nd, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM in the iPrep parking lot. The Harvest Fest was set up with activity booths, tents, game booths, face painting, a G-force ride, and a dunk tank which is the biggest fundraiser. Besides the auctions, fear factor activity, ring toss, and a Halloween-themed photo booth, the teacher/staff dunk tank was the biggest money maker as students bought many tickets to try and dunk teachers and staff into the water. This year a new event was added: a Trunk or Treat, where adults fill the trunks of their cars to give candy to the elementary student to mimic “Trick or Treat.” The PTSA donated food, snacks, and drinks to be sold at the festival.

Why was this year’s Harvest Fest a Success?
The PTSA Vice President and Special Education/Gifted Chairperson, Ms. Lauri Sanders, discussed that she was “so glad that we are back to ‘normal’ and we’re able to celebrate with our iPrep family at the annual harvest fest … fun was had by all and we were able to fund the balance of the bleed kits.”

Senior Activities
The 2023 graduating seniors at iPrep painted mini pumpkins on October 19th, 2022 to raise money for their class. The pumpkins were auctioned off at the Harvest Festival. The profits they raised all went to their class-planned events and activities. They raised approximately $120 to put toward their class funds.

Elementary Halloween Festival
On October 31st, the elementary students participated in a Storybook Character-themed parade in celebration of Halloween. Students and staff, dressed up as their favorite characters, visited offices in the School Board building and walked through the second and third floors of our building showing off their costumes! Many of the Upper Academy teachers followed suit, dressing as characters from Alice in Wonderland. |

The high school students visited the street fair around 9 AM, listened to the author Kat Cho talk about her new book “ONCE UPON A K-PROM,'' browsed through the many booths in the street fair, and ate from many delicious food trucks. A small group of middle school students, Phoenix Literary Society Book Club, also attended the Fair with the high school. They saw two authors: Christina Diaz Gonzalez who talked about her book “Invisible” from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and Soman Chainani talked about “The Rise of the School for Good and Evil” from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. They also had the chance to walk around the street fair. It was a great way to start the Thanksgiving Holiday.
