By Your Local Expert on Being Single: Zykeria Rolle, Junior These are some words to describe this recent Valentine’s day: “A long nap.” - Ch’ade Delotte-Bennett “Nothing Special.” - Maria Wong “Just vibe. It’s not it.” - Zoë Felfle “No comment.” - Divier De Los Reyes For some being single is a choice, but for me, it’s life. This is my 7-step program on how I endure this atrocious day: 1. Don’t go on social media. The only exception is Twitter.Social media is only going to lower your self-esteem, and we don’t need low self-esteem on Valentine’s Day. 2. Don’t listen to Drake, The Weekend, or any 2000’s R&B.The music is depressing and will remind you of a past relationship or one you just don’t have. Listen to some pop, rap, and rock to get by without reminiscing. I recommend Twenty-One Pilots. 3. Eat Ben and Jerry’s Cookie Dough Ice Cream or just eat carbs.Food is a great distraction from reality and proves to be a comfort for everyone. Order from home or eat your favorites. 4. Watch Something Great, Shrek 2, or movie with a celebrity crush. These movies are fun and don't totally involve another person. If you really wanna watch a Rom-Com, watch one with your celebrity crush or just watch a horror movie. I recommend It or any Halloween movies. 5. Celebrate Galentine's Day.Be with friends. Hang Out, FaceTime, or text friends who are also single (stay away from people in relationships). They are usually single too. Chat about future plans, get your nails done, and relax. 6. Live vicariously through your parents.Your parents are just an older version of you. If your parents are married, eat their presents and if they aren’t together, live through their misery. Hang out and learn from their mistakes. 7. Remember not all love is worth having and love yourself.Work Cited“r/FunnyandSad - Chart on Valentines Day.” Reddit, www.reddit.com/r/FunnyandSad/comments/
