By Sabrina Beguiristain, Senior On Saturday, October 21, 2017, iPrep Academy had its very own Harvest Festival, which was filled with families and students. The days leading up to the festival, students and teachers rushed to complete all the posters for each booth. The Harvest Festival is an exciting celebration of the the welcoming of fall. To appreciate the season, the festival was filled with an array of diverse and engaging activities. For instance, there was the Photo booth, Pumpkin Tic-Tac-Toe, Ring Toss, and Soda Pong, which captured silly moments of the children. There was also a stunning display of creative pumpkins. I was part of the Face Painting Booth, which included 3 other volunteers. I’ve never attempted to face paint before, but I desired to try it and see how it’s completed. I dressed up as a friendly witch, but was quickly discontinued by the wind and puddles of water. However, I didn’t let my drenched witch hat discourage my Halloween spirit. Thus, I opened the paint and placed the face paint pictures on the table. I was ready to begin painting with the colors and brushes we had in place. With my swift hand, I reached for the paint and brushes to begin my numerous creations. Each heart and spider web was painted on with steady precision and attentive eyes. Nine children later, my hands and face were covered with smudged face paint, but it was all worth it. Watching the children’s awe was wonderful to witness because I was overjoyed that the kids were having a memorable time at the Harvest Festival.
