By Cristopher Lopez, Senior One of the smartest human minds,
Was born on already defined. Yet adaptable was her mind. Too adventurous for her time. For society has no affection for a woman, And anti-segregation legislation was left to Truman. Which was then left to Eisenhower, And black and whites weren’t allowed to use the same shower. A highschooler by the age of ten. A prodigy disgraced by men. She graduated college at just eighteen. And learned how to use math using any mean. An ambitious mind she had. Yet amiable to her lad. For he gave her compassion in his love and humor, Until the poor man died of a brain tumor. She was considerate in her job, She never gave up or gave a little sob. No matter her anxiety, She was courageous against a racial society. She got accepted to NASA due to her past A genius mind that was different from the mass. Her first mission was to look at a black box. Black humor aside, she was like a working ox. She tended the fields of astrology and math. As she lead way to a new mathematical path. She worked backward to Make Project Mercury a success. Blessed was her mind as she calculated this mess. Thanks to her we can now reach the moon, And hopefully, we’ll reach more than that soon. Reach for the stars as an astrologer would say, And thanks to her we’ll get pass them someday.
