SPACE DOGGO: The One Adventure of Chris Snoop

Today seemed like a beautiful day to go on a long spaceship ride, but my owner was super busy. He says he has to go stop a planet war or something. What he does is not as interesting as this bone I’m chewing. Some things about me are that I have always been a sucker for spaceship rides. This new spaceship my owner got has fake air! It is so fun because I can stick my head out the window compartment and let my tongue loose and feel an amazing breeze. He has been really busy lately though and I haven’t been getting the most attention. We haven’t played fetch in two days! Do you know how long that is? I hear he is always stressed trying to stop Mars and Jupiter from blowing each other up because they both want to take over this new galaxy found by NASA. My owner is always saying that we have destroyed enough planets, and we don’t deserve another galaxy. I agree with him. I have read about the history of the Earth and how the beautiful planet was turned into the vilest thing and is no longer inhabitable. |
Nowadays, I am always cooped up in this floating house. Even though it has some very nice synthetic flowers in the garden, it is not the same as the park where I get to poop on the good grass, watch the stars, and see some of my friends. I have always enjoyed meeting up with them, even though some of them can be somewhat airheads. Berney is always scratching his butt everywhere.
Now, my days are usually spent rolling on the carpet or watching others through the window. To be honest I am a little envious of Jackie, my neighbor, as she is walked by her owner every day. I consider myself very independent, but I just wish John could spend more time with me.
I have decided something very important. Today is the day that I, Chris Snoop, will take myself to the dog park. I know it's a scary universe out there, but I am going to face it. I’ve made all the preparations: got my space suit ready, packed my snacks, put my favorite red ball in my bag, and filled up the air tank. As I walked out the door and down the magnetized steps, everything seemed to be in place, but I had a weird feeling about the atmosphere. I am pleasantly surprised to find there are not many people out today, but I continued on my way because I have a mission to have fun today. |
As I walked down the street, I wondered what everyone was doing. I saw no cars or pedestrians. Even the squirrels I like to chase have disappeared. It’s so amazing they figured out to modify them so they don’t need oxygen tanks to live. They do seem a little plasticky though.
To be honest with you, I am not sure what way the dog park really is, but I believe that luck is on my side, and I can find it through spatial instinct. I think I am going to make a turn on this street. Just as I placed my covered paw, to cross the street, I saw a levitating car fly past me almost running me over. My whole body tensed; I felt fear crawl all over my body, and that gravity no longer holding me down. I never had an encounter that had brought me close to death. The car continued at a supersonic speed down the street and drove very carelessly and almost crashed into an empty flavored air stand. Today felt like such an odd day.
I continued walking and found the city. The place that has really high buildings and a lot of people. This told me that I was getting closer to the park since my owner always passes through the city. I still could not find anybody on the street. I continued walking and heard some noises when I passed an alleyway. I decided to go and investigate. I became startled when I found Berney rummaging through a trash can. He seemed frantic as I approached him. When he realized it was me he ran towards me saying “Oh my gosh, Chris I can’t believe it’s you. I’ve so worried about everyone. Have you heard the news?”
I was so confused as to what he was trying to say. “Berney, what are you talking about?”
He responds. “You haven’t heard? Mars and Jupiter have gone to war, and other planets are dividing and picking sides. The whole planet has been evacuated except those who work in international relationships that have set up camp in the NASA headquarters of the city.”
I guess this is all making some sense. Why my owner hasn’t been spending time with me and why there was no one in the street today. I had to ask him, “So then why are you here all alone then?”
Frantically Berney explains, “My owner rushed out of the house and completely forgot about me. I have no idea what to do!”
“Ok, calm down. We’ll figure out a way for you to get back to your owner. Maybe it would be best if we find my owner first, he could help us find your owner.”
“I don’t know Chris, if the planets are at war they could come in and attack at any minute. We can’t just be out in the street.”
“Well, this alley isn’t safe either, and you’re not going to be able to get back to your owner if we don’t find the NASA headquarters.”
“Fine but we have to hurry.”
So we started walking on the main street towards the headquarters. There were signs showing us the way so we could easily find our way there. Once we walked for a good hour, we could see the building pretty closely, but what we did not expect to see would be a ship in the air sending rockets into the building: Everyone is running out, screaming, scared for their lives, and all around us there is glass breaking and walls shattering.
In the crowd of scared workers, I see my owner John. I always get excited when he gets home, but I had never felt such relief seeing him. I say over to Berny, “Look, look, John is right there. I can see him, He’s alive!” We both started barking furiously, and we caught his attention. As he got closer, he looked very surprised to see me.
He goes to one knee, hugs me, and says “Oh Chris, I am so glad you are okay. I can’t believe I left you all alone at the house.” Then he notices Berney next to me.
“I guess you brought your friend with you. Come on guys we have to get out of here.” Just as he says that I start to fall to the ground, and I feel a strong pain in the back of my head. The last thing I see is purple covered legs dragging John away.
As I open my eyes, I get an extreme pain in my head and can barely breathe. We find ourselves in a weird dark looking spaceship. They tied Berney and me to a pipe at the end of the room by our necks as if we were dogs from the old planet. They have John cuffed to a chair in the middle of the room. I am guessing that these people are soldiers from the enemy planets but what would they want with us?
The soldiers started asking John some very strange questions.
They started yelling at him: “What is your country's defense plan against Jupiter?!” John refused to answer.
After hours of trying to bite at this rope, I couldn’t get free, and I could sense that they were getting angry when they didn’t get the answers they wanted from John. A strange man came out of the sliding doors. I could feel the power emanating from him. He got very close to John’s face and whispered, “If you don’t give up the information soon you are going to really regret it.”
John responded very bitterly, “No you sickos, you’ve already killed everyone that was on the evacuation ship all because you want to colonize some galaxy. You were willing to harm those of your same species just so you could conquer the universe. Humanity doesn’t deserve to expand farther. We started by killing the earth and now the surrounding planets of this galaxy. I will not allow you to continue destroying the universe.”
The guy who seemed to be leading all the soldiers laughed maliciously and said, “You with your pesky ideas on the morality of colonization. Nobody is going to stop Jupiter and the Central powers from expanding.” He started to walk towards me, and I knew that something extremely painful was going to happen.
“One last chance John, tell us what you know and nothing bad has to happen.”
John pleaded “Please don’t harm him, he is an innocent animal!”
“We gave you the opportunity to talk.”
In my last moments, I looked at John, he seemed to mouth something to me. Maybe it was I’m sorry. Maybe it was it’s ok. I didn’t feel any anger. Even though my time was short, John made it a happy life.
