By: Clara Bent, Senior I open my eyes. I’m covered in blood. “What is this?” I ask in terror as I look down at my hands, which are covered in a deep, dark, and chunky scarlet. As I continue to stare down, I see that it’s on my shirt and my pants are dripping off of me. I look back and suddenly... “Ahhhhh!!” I screech as tears fall from my chocolate eyes. I am confused because I don’t know why I am in such agony. I stare back down to my rough hands that are covered in this deep red and blink many times hoping the pain and stains of crimson will disappear. “What happened? What is this? Is it BLOOD?” I think to myself I finally look up around the room. I see my love on their knees with thick snot and fat tears rolling down their beautiful face. “My love, why are you crying?” I ask, but I get no response from my loved one’s parted rose colored lips. I feel a pain deep in my chest. “Why is my chest in so much pain? Is it because I see my lover in such pain?” I ask myself. I put my hand on my chest, and I feel something that I can’t describe. I slowly turn my head down to see a massive hole dripping with the same thick blood on my hands. Memories come flooding of a heated argument between me and my lover and all I can do is smile. I realize what I have done. “Here you go.” I reach out my left hand to give my love the only thing I truly have. With a smile on my face, I fall on the floor, content that I could finally give my lover what they have always owned. My heart.
