I have never been interested in writing or reading poetry. As most students, I found the task of poetry analysis arduous and mind-boggling. I was genuinely surprised to find out how much I enjoy writing poetry, and how cathartic the experience is. In “My Collection of Poems,” I present my favorite poems from my work in Creative Writing 2020-2021. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing! It’s always fun to ask the writer where they got the idea or to explain the poem, so if you want to talk about poetry, email me at [email protected]
Freedom
what is the cost of freedom?
winter’s first snowfall stained in crimson by the blood of the fallen. what is the cost of freedom? the summer rain steeped in toxicity tainted by centuries of discontent and abuse. what is the cost of freedom? home. |

The Pen of Death
i couldn’t see. why
were you behind me? you were a shadow, in a room deprived of light. it was dark and rainy. i was scared. i was alone. i didn’t mean to hurt you. the pen was the first thing i found and the last thing you saw |
