By N'agelie Lazo, Senior Before you are a president,
Before you are a senator, Before you are a representative, Before you are a governor, Before you are a mayor, You are a human. Humans were also once young students, sitting in a classroom, and thinking that school was a safe place. This changed on April 20th, 1999. This changed on April 16th, 2007. This changed on December 14th, 2012. This changed on November 14th, 2017. This changed on February 1st, 2018. Americans are desensitized to school shootings because it has sadly become our culture and is recognized as a normality within society. This did not change on February 14th, 2018: I should of cried. Instead I’m angry. Angry at you. Angry YOU took Alyssa Alhadeff (14), Scott Beigel (35), Martin Duque (14), Nicholas Dworet (17), Aaron Feis (37), Jaime Guttenberg (14), Chris Hixon (49), Luke Hoyer (15), Cara Loughran (14), Gina Montalto (14), Joaquin Oliver (17), Alaina Petty (14), Meadow Pollack (18), Helena Ramsay (17), Alex Schachter (14), Carmen Schentrup (16), Peter Wang (15). I am angry — you took me. Do you see the issue or do you see no problem? Do you want to protect guns or do you choose to protect children? Do you want gun control? We do. We want reform. I say this not only as a high school senior from iPreparatory Academy in Miami Florida, but also as a citizen of the United States of America. I urge you: DO better. BE better. ACT better. WE elect YOU. WE chose YOU. WE rely on YOU. YOU act.

By Kristie Rodriguez, Senior Now, there stands fourteen empty seats in a sea of students at Stoneman Douglas High School.
Endless questions about security are raised because this country allows Violence to be aimed by bullets. Everyone knows the answer to such dilemma: Regulation, regulation, regulation. All we ask as parents, teachers, and students— citizens: Give the second amendment a filter that will ensure safety. America will continue to stand as home of mass shootings If we don’t take a step forward towards justice for the victims who were Never able to get back home after school on February 14, 2018. #NeverAgain By Laura Mejia, Senior I Pledge Allegiance to the students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Open fire Reckless killing And simply No regard. "Guns don't kill, humans do," yet Everyone is armed. Forget a background check-- Only income truly matters now. Revolution is a step to change Motivated by the Senseless actions of a monster: we test Democracy to see If USA was made for People or for money. Ring the bells, sound the alarms because Emotionally moved teens are extremely strong-- Prominent voices taking charge. Watch out world, cuz now you’re ours. By Georgette Delosreyes, Senior On February 14, 2018, a mass shooting took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. A total of seventeen people were killed and fifteen more were taken to hospitals. According to Fox News, this mass school shooting now marks one of the world's deadliest school massacres recorded. In light of the horrific mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, iPreparatory Academy is with the victims and their families.
We bow our heads, we offer our prayers and condolences. We say no more guns, and say more gun control! Never again we shout, yet we fear for our lives and wait for another mass shooting. How many kids need to be buried? How many more cries do we need to hear? We protest for more gun regulations, so that cries can be ceased. We shouldn’t have to beg for change! America stands with Stoneman Douglas High School, but most importantly iPrep stands with you! #iPrepStandsWithMSD |
